REFUND POLICY
This Refund Policy explains how refunds work for TORQ purchases. There are two purchase paths — lifetime access through our website (handled by us), and subscriptions through the App Store (handled by Apple). The refund process is different for each.
QUICK SUMMARY
Lifetime access (£49.99, purchased on our website) — Full refund if TORQ doesn't ship within 12 months of your purchase. DM @TorqApp with your Stripe receipt.
Monthly or annual subscription (purchased through the App Store) — All refunds are handled directly by Apple, not by TORQ. Use reportaproblem.apple.com.
1. Lifetime Access Refunds
When you buy lifetime access on our website, payment is processed by Stripe and we issue the refund directly. Two situations qualify:
1.1 The 12-month no-ship guarantee
If TORQ doesn't launch on the App Store within 12 months of your lifetime purchase date, you are entitled to a full refund. No questions asked, no proof required, no process to argue about.
To claim this refund:
- DM @TorqApp on Instagram
- Include your Stripe receipt (or the email confirmation we sent after purchase)
- State that you'd like to claim the 12-month no-ship refund
We process refunds within 5 business days. The refund is returned to your original payment method via Stripe. It typically takes 5-10 working days to appear in your bank or card account after processing, depending on your bank.
1.2 UK Consumer Rights — Digital Content (14-day period)
Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, consumers normally have a 14-day right to cancel an online purchase. However, this right is waived for digital content once delivery has begun and you have agreed to immediate access.
For TORQ lifetime access: until early access begins for your account (i.e. until we send you a TestFlight invite), you can request a full refund within 14 days of purchase under your standard consumer cancellation rights. Once early access has been delivered to you, the digital content exception applies.
To request a 14-day refund, DM @TorqApp.
1.3 Discretionary refunds
Outside of the cases above, we may issue refunds at our discretion if you have a reasonable concern. We're a small business run by a real person, not a faceless company — talk to us if something's gone wrong. We'd rather refund someone unhappy than have them feel ripped off.
2. App Store Subscription Refunds
If you subscribed to TORQ through the App Store (monthly £7.99 or annual £39.99), we cannot issue your refund directly. Apple processes all App Store payments and handles all refund decisions according to their own policy.
This isn't us avoiding responsibility — it's how Apple's payment system works. We never receive your money directly; Apple does, then forwards us their share weeks later. Refunds have to go back through Apple.
2.1 How to request an App Store refund
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com
- Sign in with the Apple ID you used to purchase the subscription
- Find your TORQ subscription in the list of recent purchases
- Tap "Report a Problem" or "Request a Refund"
- Choose the reason that best matches your situation
- Submit the request
Apple typically responds within 24-48 hours. Approval is at their discretion, but they are generally accommodating for first-time refund requests, especially if requested within a few days of purchase.
Tip: If your refund request is denied by Apple and you have a genuine concern, message us at @TorqApp. We may be able to credit you a free month of premium directly through TestFlight or grant lifetime access in exceptional cases.
2.2 Cancelling a subscription (vs. requesting a refund)
Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals — it does not refund past payments. You'll continue to have premium access until the end of the current billing period, then revert to the free tier.
To cancel your subscription:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone
- Tap your name at the top
- Tap "Subscriptions"
- Select TORQ
- Tap "Cancel Subscription"
You can also manage all subscriptions at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
2.3 Free trial
If you're on the 7-day free trial for the monthly subscription, you can cancel any time during the trial period and you will not be charged. Cancellation must be completed at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid being billed.
3. The Launch Bounty (£0 grants)
If you received TORQ Lifetime free as a winner of our launch bounty (50,000+ views), there is no payment to refund. Lifetime access granted through the bounty programme is non-transferable and non-refundable for cash equivalent.
4. What's Not Refundable
- App Store subscription periods that have already been used (you used it, you keep it)
- Subscriptions you forgot to cancel before auto-renewal (this is between you and Apple, but Apple often refunds in this situation)
- Time spent in the app (we don't refund based on "I didn't use it enough")
These restrictions don't affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
5. Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in this Refund Policy limits or excludes your statutory rights as a consumer under the laws of England and Wales (or your country of residence, where applicable). The Consumer Rights Act 2015 and related legislation give you specific protections for digital products that we cannot waive.
If we breach the implied terms of fitness for purpose, satisfactory quality, or as-described, you have a right to refund, repair, or replacement under that legislation, even outside the windows described above.
6. Contact
For any refund question, dispute, or to claim a refund:
- Instagram DM: @TorqApp
We respond within one business day. For App Store subscription refunds specifically, please use Apple's process at reportaproblem.apple.com first.
The honest version: If you bought lifetime and we don't deliver, full refund — guaranteed. If you subscribed through the App Store, Apple controls refunds and we can't override that. If something's gone wrong and the standard processes don't work for you, DM @TorqApp and we'll try to sort it.
